Nanjing Maritime Court Hosts Symposium with Shanghai Maritime University
On December 12, Chu Beiping, President of Shanghai Maritime University, led a delegation to the Nanjing Maritime Court for research and exchange. The visit aimed to deepen university-court collaboration and cultivate high-caliber legal professionals specializing in foreign-related affairs. Li Yuming, President of the Nanjing Maritime Court, attended the symposium.
During the discussion, Chu Beiping emphasized that while Shanghai Maritime University boasts distinctive strengths in academic research, the Nanjing Maritime Court possesses rich practical judicial experience and resources. He noted that this high degree of complementarity creates immense potential for cooperation. President Chu expressed the hope that both sides would deepen cooperation in such fields as specialized curriculum development, the application of artificial intelligence in judicial practice, and the recruitment of outstanding graduates.
Li Yuming extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that through their joint efforts over the past year, Shanghai Maritime University and the Nanjing Maritime Court have already yielded a string of fruitful cooperation results. Looking ahead, he called for targeted collaboration in cutting-edge maritime law research, the establishment of industry-university-research bases, and the exchange of legal professionals specializing in foreign-related affairs, aiming to set a national model for university-court cooperation in the maritime sector.
