On June 8, the Department of Natural Resources of Jiangsu Province and the Lianyungang Municipal People’s Government jointly hosted the Jiangsu Main Event for the 2026 National Marine Publicity Day and the Seminar on High-Quality Marine Economic Development.

The event featured a rich program, including the screening of the “Promotional Video on High-Quality Development of Jiangsu’s Marine Economy” and the release of Jiangsu’s Six Key Action Plans for National Marine Publicity Day. The event provided a systematic overview of the province’s marine economic development trends, with a special focus on promoting the Jiangsu Marine Economy Investment Fund to inject momentum into the clustered development and innovative upgrading of the province’s marine industries.

At the seminar, industrial experts, academic representatives and enterprise leaders  gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on key areas such as marine talent development, marine financial innovation, marine information technology, marine biopharmaceuticals, and the upgrading of the shipbuilding industry chain. They focused on the integration of science, education, industry, and vocational training, as well as the empowerment of technological innovation, to explore new pathways for improving the quality and efficiency of the marine industry.
