Nantong Lvsi fishing port is one of the first group of state-level central fishing ports. While its annual marine fishing amount accounts for one third of that of Jiangsu Province, and the number of people engaged in marine fishery production exceeds 30,000, the development of fishery economy has also brought about some conflicts and disputes. However, there was such a mediator who, in the face of complicated and changing situations, always insisted on the front-line of dispute settlement, committed to properly resolving disputes involving maritime fisheries, and endeavored to resolve contradictions on the spot.

In order to further deepen the understanding and research of new formats and problems in the maritime field, and to improve the level of maritime judicial services to ensure high-quality economic and social development, Nanjing Maritime Court recently held a seminar on legal issues related to port intelligent construction and new forms of logistics services in Zhangjiagang. More than 20 representatives from units such as Nanjing Maritime Court, Suzhou Transportation Bureau, Zhangjiagang Maritime Bureau, universities within and outside Jiangsu province, industry associations, and port and shipping enterprises attended the meeting.

Recently, a maritime insurance contract dispute case tried by Nanjing Maritime Court was published in the fourth volume of the 2023 Chinese Maritime and Commercial Law Reports, a journal under the global renowned maritime and commercial law publisher Informa UK plc, and included in Informa i-Law electronic database.

On Dec 6, 2023, Nanjing Maritime Court held the opening of the new site of its Lianyungang dispatched tribunal. The heads and representatives from various sectors of Jiangsu province attended the ceremony.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the construction of national pilot free trade zones, the fourth anniversary of the establishment of China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and the beginning of the three-year action plan to enhance the free trade zone. Nanjing Maritime Court, along with Nanjing Intermediate People's Court and the People's Court of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, take the initiative to assume responsibilities. The three courts implement precise strategies in multiple dimensions and jointly serve and support the construction of the Nanjing area of the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

The signing ceremony for the Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships (Beijing Convention) was successfully held in Beijing, Sep 5, 2023. At the ceremony, ministers/heads of delegations, United Nations officials and senior officials of China witnessed Beijing Convention, which is the first convention on the judicial sales of ships in the world, the first UN convention in the maritime field that names after a Chinese city, was open for signature.
